Brief Description of Recruitment

The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has officially released Advertisement Notification No. 12 of 2025 for the recruitment of 1815 Constables (Executive) in the J&K Police, Home Department. This is a major recruitment drive for the Divisional Cadre (Jammu and Kashmir). Eligible and interested candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of J&K are invited to apply online.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed the Matriculation (10th Class) examination from any recognized Board/Institution in India.
2. Domicile: Candidate MUST be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on the prescribed format on or before the last date (17.02.2026) is mandatory.
3. Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed Physical Standards (See table below).

Division & Category-Wise Vacancy Details

Note: Actual number of posts may vary. Horizontal reservation exists for Women (15%), SPOs (15%), and Volunteer Home Guards (4%) within these vacancies.

Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Relaxations: Height relaxed by 2 inches for candidates belonging to Gorkha Community & Bot Tribe. Ex-Servicemen have age-based relaxed PET standards.

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will also be eligible for usual government allowances such as HRA, DA, TA, etc., as per J&K Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be a multi-stage process:

1. Written Examination: Objective Type (MCQ) test with negative marking (1/4th mark deduction for wrong answer). Bonus marks for NCC Certificate holders (5% for ‘C’, 3% for ‘B’, 2% for ‘A’ certificate).
2. Physical Standard Test (PST): (Qualifying). Candidates shortlisted for PST will be 6 times the category-wise vacancies.
3. Physical Endurance Test (PET): (Qualifying). For candidates who clear PST.
4. Document Verification (DV): Verification of all original certificates (Domicile, Qualification, Category, DOB, etc.).
5. Final Merit List: Prepared based on marks in the Written Examination only.

Steps to Apply (From 19.01.2026):

1. Visit the official JKSSB website: www.jkssb.nic.in.
2. Click on the link for “Online Application for Constable (Executive) Recruitment 2026”.
3. Register yourself and note down the registration credentials.
4. Log in, fill the online application form carefully with correct personal, educational, and category details. Ensure name, DOB, parents’ name match the Matriculation certificate exactly.
5. Upload scanned documents (photograph, signature, domicile certificate, category certificate if applicable) as per specified format and size.
6. Pay the requisite application fee online.
7. Review all details, submit the form, and take a printout of the final submitted application form for future reference. Do not send hard copies to JKSSB.

Important: Candidates are advised to fill and submit the form well before the last date to avoid last-minute website congestion. No change/correction will be allowed after final submission.
