Brief Description of Recruitment
The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has officially released Advertisement Notification No. 12 of 2025 for the recruitment of 1815 Constables (Executive) in the J&K Police, Home Department. This is a major recruitment drive for the Divisional Cadre (Jammu and Kashmir). Eligible and interested candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of J&K are invited to apply online.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed the Matriculation (10th Class) examination from any recognized Board/Institution in India.
2. Domicile: Candidate MUST be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on the prescribed format on or before the last date (17.02.2026) is mandatory.
3. Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed Physical Standards (See table below).

Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Relaxations: Height relaxed by 2 inches for candidates belonging to Gorkha Community & Bot Tribe. Ex-Servicemen have age-based relaxed PET standards.

Selected candidates will also be eligible for usual government allowances such as HRA, DA, TA, etc., as per J&K Government rules.
Selection Process
The selection will be a multi-stage process:
- Written Examination: Objective Type (MCQ) test with negative marking (1/4th mark deduction for wrong answer). Bonus marks for NCC Certificate holders (5% for ‘C’, 3% for ‘B’, 2% for ‘A’ certificate).
- Physical Standard Test (PST): (Qualifying). Candidates shortlisted for PST will be 6 times the category-wise vacancies.
- Physical Endurance Test (PET): (Qualifying). For candidates who clear PST.
- Document Verification (DV): Verification of all original certificates (Domicile, Qualification, Category, DOB, etc.).
- Final Merit List: Prepared based on marks in the Written Examination only.

Steps to Apply (From 19.01.2026):
- Visit the official JKSSB website: www.jkssb.nic.in.
- Click on the link for “Online Application for Constable (Executive) Recruitment 2026”.
- Register yourself and note down the registration credentials.
- Log in, fill the online application form carefully with correct personal, educational, and category details. Ensure name, DOB, parents’ name match the Matriculation certificate exactly.
- Upload scanned documents (photograph, signature, domicile certificate, category certificate if applicable) as per specified format and size.
- Pay the requisite application fee online.
- Review all details, submit the form, and take a printout of the final submitted application form for future reference. Do not send hard copies to JKSSB.
Important: Candidates are advised to fill and submit the form well before the last date to avoid last-minute website congestion. No change/correction will be allowed after final submission.
